I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer in
the
Department of Electrical &
Computer Engineering
at
State University of New York (SUNY)
at Stony Brook
. I obtained B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electronics Engineering from
Kyungpook National University
, Taegu, Korea, in 1991 and 1993, respectively . I obtained Ph.D degree
in Electrical and Computer Engineering from SUNY at Stony Brook in May
2003. From 1993 to 1999, I was a Senior Research Member in the Advanced
Robotics Lab. at
Korea Atomic Energy
Research Institute
(KAERI) in Daejon, Korea.
My research interests are in 3D Computer/Robot Vision and 3D Computer Graphics.
Especially I am interested in the research of "
Photo-realistic 3D Model
Reconstruction of Real Objects from Multi-view Color and Range Images
". I am also interested in application of this technique to several research
areas such as Intelligence Robotics, Ubiquitous Computing, Human Computer
Interface, and Homeland Security. I also have many industrial experiences
as a Senior Research Engineer at KAERI. In the Advanced Robotics Lab, I have
conducted many research projects to develop tele-presence and virtual reality
systems for remotely operated robotic vehicles.
As a Lecturer, I am teaching an undergraduate course of ‘Computer Techniques
for Electronic Design’ in the Spring 2004 semester. In addition, I have three
years of teaching experiences as a Teaching Assistant. I have taught senior
level undergraduate students in the courses of ‘C/C++ Programming Language’,
‘Computer Vision’, and ‘Real-time Operating System’. Because my research and
teaching backgrounds are related to computer engineering, I am interested
in teaching
C/C++ Programming Languages, Data Structure, Image Processing,
and Computer Vision.
