For all Senior Design Projects, the team must have a faculty advisor that oversees the project. The responsibility of the faculty advisor is to make sure that the student engineers have the resources and support needed to carry out the project, along with many other supervision. The faculty advisor for NESSg1 is Prof. Alex Doboli.

Prof. Doboli, Ph.D., "Politehnica" (Technical) University Timisoara, Romania, Ph.D., University of Cincinnati, teaches undergraduate and graduate level ECE courses at Stony Brook and his research interests are VLSI Design and CAD research, Mixed-signal synthesis, Hardware-software co-design, Reconfigurable computing, High-Level VLSI Synthesis and Real-time systems.
