Biographical Sketch

I joined Stony Brook University as an Assistant Professor in August 2014. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science working under the direction of Prof. John A. Stankovic at the University of Virginia.

My work has won three Best Paper Awards and three Best Paper Finalists. I am a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award. I am a senior member of ACM and IEEE.

Research Areas

Cyber-Physical Systems: My group investigates data-driven control, formal safety verification, and decentralized coordination across interconnected cyber-physical platforms. We build real-time control frameworks for smart hospitals, autonomous e-taxi fleets, and energy-efficient building operations.

Artificial Intelligence: My focus is on physics-informed, human-centered AI for digital health monitoring and urban service analytics. Recent projects involve learning digital biomarkers, emotional cues, and closed-loop treatment policies for medical and smart city applications.

Sensing, Communications & Networking: My work in this area focuses on non-isotropic sensing architectures, cross-layer network protocol design, and real-time wireless communications for safety-critical systems.
